Photography
Photography has always been about the connection for me, from the things I photograph to the places I visit. It started in high school when I took my first photography class. Back then, it was film photography. We made our own rolls of film (black and white), went on our photo shoot, and then developed them in the dark room. Prior to processing, we had no idea if what we shot was going to come out, and no clue as to what it would look like until we had the print hanging to dry. I loved the entire process.
I got my first digital point and shoot camera in 2006, and took pictures of everything. Then life happened, and my passion for photography slowly dwindled to nothing; my little point and shoot just sat and collected dust.
In 2012, my husband and I took a trip to Ireland. Prior to departing, I went to my husband and said, “I don’t want to go to Ireland with a tiny point and shoot, low resolution, camera, I want a real one, one that will give me good quality images of all of the sights we’re about to see. I to capture every moment of it.”
I had so much fun with my camera in Ireland that I started taking my camera everywhere, taking pictures of anything that caught my eye. And thus began my re-kindled love affair with photography. Based in Hampstead, NC, I work throughout the greater Wilmington area and beyond.
