Born in Berlin, Germany, Sabine is a professional artist working in a variety of mediums. As she always enjoyed illustrating, she majored in medical and scientific illustration, and received a BS in Applied Arts from Pace University, and did her masters coursework in Art and Art Therapy at NYU. She was fortunate to study watercolors under Norman Rockwell apprentice and renowned National Geographic Magazine illustrator, Pierre Mion.
Although she worked as an illustrator and brand designer in the medical and pharmaceutical advertising fields for nearly 40 years, she continued to pursue her passion as a fine artist and teacher. Her work has been honored with awards, and has been shown in such prestigious places as the Hudson River Museum of Art, at the Briarcliff Gallery at Pace University in NY, the Andre Shellingburger Gallery in CA, as well as at the Cameron Museum in Wilmington, NC.
Sabine has been a commissioned artist for several national public art projects, including 2005 San Juan Mountains Association Pumas on Parade; 2006 International Parade of Cows – Denver; the Cat’n Around Catskill project since 2007, and the 2019 Airlie Gardens HeArt of the Gardens Art Exhibit in Wilmington, NC. She was recently a featured artist in Wrightsville Beach Magazine.
Sabine is a resident teaching artist here at ArtExposure, and participates at local and regional gallery art shows and exhibits. Her memberships include the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society, NC Watercolor Society, and National Watercolor Society. She is also a board member of the Wildlife Artists of the Carolinas, and Founder/President of the Greater Topsail Art Association.
